Recent projects and outputs
- Intelligent Systems for Screen Archives (ISSA) — a BFI-funded project developing AI tools and skills for moving image archives, in partnership with five UK archives
- DEERIN prototypes — four modular, open-source tools for data enrichment, exploration, retrieval, and interaction with screen heritage collections, developed through ISSA
- FrameSense — an open-source tool for processing large moving image collections into machine-readable datasets, developed with King’s Digital Lab
- MESH Hub — new Arts & Humanities infrastructure for computational media experimentation at King’s, funded through a Research Infrastructure Fund bid
- ARCAM-net — a proposed European research network for computational audiovisual media, heading towards a 2027 COST Action resubmission led by Mila Oiva
- My book Cinema and Machine Vision (Edinburgh University Press, 2024)
